Get Creative ~ Get Organized
Hi, my name is Cindy and I'm one of the owners of ScrapNcube... my father taught me years ago that everything should have a place and everything should be in its place and I have carried on this tradition that he taught me as a child growing up. Now, if you ask anyone in my family they will tell you that I was the messiest child ever -- and, I really was!! However, something happened after I got married that brought my father's words in to action in my life and since that time, I actually enjoy... yes, enjoy order and organization.
I am a self-proclaimed organizer... Besides scrapbooking, very few things get me quite as excited as seeing a space or a drawer that is methodically and categorically organized with everything aligned perfectly in place.... this feeling is absolutely uphoric to me!!
12x12 Cardstock:
I store my 12x12 cardstock by color in our specially designed QB6 (six-shelf cubit for 12x12 papers). You can get approximately 120 sheets of cardstock per shelf...this equates to over 720 sheets per cubit! If you prefer to have your 12x12 papers protected from sunlight, dust and florescent lighting that has been shown to fade your papers over time, I HIGHLY recommend our QB6-PD -- 12x12 Paper Drawers!
12x12 Pattern Papers:
There are a couple of ways that I recommend storing and organizing your 12x12 pattern papers. First off, determine how much 12x12 pattern paper that you have, or expect to have in the near future. If you're not sure how to do this, one way is to stack it all together on a table top and measure its height. If your stack of 12x12 pattern paper measures anywhere from a few inches to a foot, then I would recommend our Hanging File Drawer(s).
-
I highly recommend our 12x12 Hanging File Table if you are a Paper-A-Holic and are simply addicted to pattern paper!! This amazing two-drawer hanging file table will hold the equivelant of five of our standard 12x12 Hanging File Drawers (listed below).I recommend our 12x12 Hanging File Drawer if you tend to only buy 12x12 pattern papers occasionally for specific pages that you're working on. One Hanging File Drawer will hold approximately 9-12" inches of pattern paper if you were to stack it all together on the table top.
Coordinating Page Embellishments that go with the papers you buy:
This really depends on how you sort your pattern papers: Personally, I sort my pattern papers both by color and season (holiday, event, etc) and then recently, as I've begun purchasing entire line of papers and page accents, I have found it easier to keep everything together. So, I will use a plastic paperclip and attach the page embellishments onto my pattern papers -- or, if bulky, I'll simply drop them into the 'info pocket' of my legal file folder that I use to store my 12x12 pattern papers in. (Staples Item #).
- For Beginners or those of you who don't have a lot of 12x12 pattern papers, I recommend using our 12x12 Hanging File Drawer.
- For Paper-a-Holics, I recommend our 12x12 Hanging File Table.
If you don't organize your 12x12 pattern papers and page embellishments by manufacturer (as noted above) -- That's Okay! Try some of these ideas...
- Using our 12x12 Hanging File Drawer, which attaches to the underside of our Craft Tables, use standard legal file folders labeling them according to subject and/or color and organize them that way in your hanging file. Personally, this is the way I did it for years...and, still do for the items that I have that are generic in nature and don't have a manufacturer line that they go with.
