This is our story
My husband, Greg, and I live in Terrebonne, Oregon with our fun loving Golden Retrievers, Bailey & Toolee.
We feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to make a living doing what we both love. Greg has been a high end finish carpenter/contractor for over 35+ years and was sought after by those expecting only the best. I admire this quality about my husband because of the high level of integrity and passion that he brings to virtually every area of his life.
As for myself, I'm a pretty laid back kinda gal who quite simply loves life when everything is in order and in its place. I haven't always been this way however (ask my mother)... What changed? I really can't say, other than the fact that perhaps I got tired of the chaos that surrounded me while living in a state of disorganized clutter surrounding not only my personal space, but my overall sense of well-being. Over the years, I have come to realize that when my personal space is free of stuff and clutter, my overall life then becomes free. It is this freedom that drives my passion to help you create this same sense of peace within your own lives, especially that of your creative life.
How it all began
I began scrapbooking in the Spring of 1999 and was struck with an instant obsession unlike anything I had ever known. I purchased the XXL Tote that all the "hip scrapbookers" of the day had and within a couple of months it was bulging at the seams--quite literally! It was about then that I began making requests of my dear hubby to build me some craft furniture for my 12x12 paper that was absolutely taking over my life. It was everywhere and I could find nothing on the market for home storage dealing with 12x12 papers and the ever-growing embellishments and miscellaneous other crafting supplies that I was quickly accumulating.
Now, skip ahead THREE YEARS to January 2003. It was a normal day coming home from work, when my husband called me into the garage to take a look at something. Mind you, by this time I had put my hopes of ever having anything built by him w-a-y in the back of my mind, so you can imagine my surprise when I walked out to see this beautiful 6-shelf cube customized to hold my precious 12x12 papers!
To say that I was excited is such an understatement! I had this idea that we should take it down to our local scrapbook store, Scrap-A-Doodle, and see if my friend, Debbi, would be interested in carrying a few in her store as a way for me to earn a little "fun money!" Well, her reaction was far greater than what either of us ever expected. She definitively stated that we should market it and went on to explain the why's and how's, so naturally, we listened!
Well, word began spreading quickly and the calls began flooding in for requests and we didn't even have a website yet! Scrambling--literally--we began putting things together one step at a time and in March of 2003, we attended our first Creating Keepsakes Trade Show in Portland, Oregon and it was a HUGE success!
That was over twelve years ago and today we have over 100 different products (and, growing) ranging from Custom Craft Tables, Shelving, Cubes, Drawers, 12x12 Hanging File Drawers and Tables, and the list goes on.
We have enjoyed getting to know so many of you over the years and we look forward to meeting those of you who are new to ScrapNcube. Give us a call today and let us help you get Creatively Organized!
